3 MW Hydroelectric Project | Strymon River

Sustainable energy is not only about technology — it is also about approach.

Goldeco’s involvement in the technical assessment and engineering design of a hydroelectric project on the Strymon River reflects an integrated approach to the responsible use of natural resources, while respecting the environment and supporting the local development.

The project is based on a low-impact intervention, making use of existing infrastructure and the river’s natural flow. It includes the installation of two Kaplan turbines with a combined capacity of 3 MW.

Due to its location, directly adjacent to the National Road, the project does not affect undisturbed natural areas. Its operation also remains virtually silent, as the natural sound of the flowing water masks the sound of the equipment.

The project:

  • contributes to the removal of sediment and waste from the riverbed
  • generates clean, renewable energy, helping reduce CO₂ emissions
  • supports the local community through the allocation of part of the plant’s operating revenue

At Goldeco, we take a holistic approach to energy, bringing together technology, environmental responsibility and social value.
